I am a Florida native, born and raised in St. Petersburg. Water was everywhere and a big part of my everyday life as I grew up spending long summer days in the pool! After graduating from the University of Florida, I moved to Central Florida, married and had 3 wild boys! As a mother caring for three young boys, I became aware of the dangers that water presents to young children, and in Florida, we are surrounded by water. I had to prepare my children and provide them with every opportunity to learn how to be as safe as possible in and around the water. I wanted them to be able to enjoy it, but to enjoy it safely. When I found ISR, I realized that I did not have to compromise enjoyment for safety. For the past 10 years I have witnessed the life changing experiences my young boys received from taking Infant Swimming Resource lessons. I was in awe of what they were able to learn and how they independently applied their survival skills in and around the water. It became second nature for them to roll over and get air when they needed to breathe while playing in the pool. I can’t tell you enough what a peace of mind this gave me as a parent. I spread the news to all of my friends and family, however, I didn’t feel that was doing enough. I couldn’t sit on the sidelines any longer and had to become a participating part of this wonderful organization and do everything I could so that Not One More Child Drowns!
